Risk Assessment

Risk

Chance of injury

Who is at risk?
Control
Measures
Strobe light causing issues with eyes and vision
LOW
All subjected to strobe
Using the strobe minimal time and giving time to let eyes rest from flashing.
Back injury from fall
LOW
Protagonist
Using a soft surface out of shot or concealed in shot for Sam to fall on to.
Burns from Fire
LOW
Protagonist
Precautions will go ahead protecting Sam from the fire, with separate shots to avoid getting too close for burns to occur. After shots are completed, we will extinguish the fire completely.
Cut from broken glass
LOW
Protagonist + Camera operator
Getting at a safe distance away from the glass when it makes contact with the wall. Also, clearing of the glass will be essential to avoid further injuries.
Injury from swinging stick
Very Low
Protagonist
The stick is heavy that Sam will be swinging and may cause strain or possibly worse injury. We will ensure Sam has stretched and is prepared to do this action.
Injury from jumping/landing
Very Low
Protagonist +Antagonist
Ensuring bent knees on impact when landing and properly prepared for jump. Distances are not high but will need to be sure no injury is caused.
